Viles Arboretum seeks an energetic and motivated individual to serve as the full time Summer Camp-Coordinator from July 5th through August 16th, 2023.
Position Details: 45 hours per week, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday – Friday/$800 per week.

Responsibilities Include:
- Planning, preparing and leading campers through a variety of activities rooted in science, agriculture, arts and crafts, culinary arts, and nature exploration.
- Providing guidance, schedules and tasks for camp staff throughout the day.
- Maintaining a safe learning environment, managing medical needs, nutritional needs, and other health needs of campers and staff.
- Communicating with campers and families and staff in a way that is professional, kind, and considerate.
- Supervising and monitoring campers as they participate in camp activities throughout the day, ensuring they are safe and kind.
- Stewarding and maintaining the lands utilized for camp with campers and staff, with a respect for land, resources, and materials being a value of the camp.
Job Qualifications:
- Experience in horticulture, botany, forestry, ecology, landscaping, agriculture, recreation, or related fields and demonstrated relevant work experience in similar or related areas.
- Strong interest in conservation, ecological management, plants and their proper culture and care.
- Strong communication, planning, organizational, and computer skills.
- Experience working with children in educational settings.
- Flexibility and an attitude or support and patience, along with a strong sense of humor.
- Ability to manage and guide group activity and engagement while maintaining a supportive and welcoming environment.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
